Patch of Autodownload 1.2 23 December 2005 """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" exe file patched in hex editor in order to remove the 48 file limit. There should now be support for 65536 files. The time between each download can be set to 0 minutes. Autodownload 1.2 """""""""""""""" Version 1.0 and 1.1 was written in Norwegian language. The Autodownload program should be quite self explaining. Just set the URL and timings and click the Start AutoDownload ( the button should turn red). After it's started AutoDownload will check for new files and download them to the selected folder. Because AutoDownload will cause DUN ( Dial Up Networking) to connect to the internet (if autoconnection it choosen) it would be wise to change the DUN so it connects and disconnects authomaticly. This would save some money on the phone bill :-) The program log's the activity. The log file are saved in the Autodownload folder. Every time the program is terminated it writes a log file which has the name date&time.log. In this way it's possible to see why the program stopped or why it didn't find any new pictures. If the file header has not changed content since last download attempt no new file will be saved. Some times duplicated pictures can be found but when I have studied the log carefully I have found out that the picture is the same but the header has changed. Authomaticly DUN disconnect (Internet Explorer 5): """""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""""" Click Start, point to Settings, click Control Panel, and then double-click Internet. Click the Connections tab, click your Dial-Up Networking Connection, and then click Settings. Under Dial-up Settings, click Advanced. Click the Disconnect when connection may no longer be needed check box to select it. Click OK, click OK, and then click OK again. I have set my own IE5.0 to disconnect after 3 minutes when I'm only running AutoDownload. When the DUN connction is made the first time - tick the box for automatic connection The idea of the downloading is to be able to make a good slideshow of the downloaded files. Some of the files on the net are updated every 30 minutes. The slideshow can be run by programs like ACDSee http://www.acdsystems.com/pages/ Some weather satellite links: """"""""""""""""""""""""""""" http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/pub/sat-images/D2.JPG INFRA RED every 30 minutes 24H http://www.nottingham.ac.uk/pub/sat-images/C02.JPG Visual every 30 minutes ??? I had some problems earlier when using WIN95& IE4.x - the downloaded file was cut to 64kbytes. I guess that it could have been a bug with the MSinet component in WIN95/IE4.x http://home.sol.no/~jensts/Satellit/Html/satellite.html E-mail: Jens-Torbjorn.Satre@nittedal.online.no
